A few weeks ago, I get to know Russell and Jenny Sistine in the family portrait shoot for COMM316 Family Portrait shoot.
Jenny is graduating from BYU-Idaho, Rexburg, Idaho. She and her husband wanted to volunteer for the family portrait photoshoot. These guys are really fun together. I just love the love and the chemistry they have for each other as a family.
The Sistine is currently a family of three: Russell (the dad), Jenny (the mom), and Lexi (the littlest baby girl of the family). They are a new LDS/Mormon family living in Rexburg, Idaho. Megan Kelly did a blog post on the Sistine family she gave me an idea for black and white. I thought this black and white style suits the family very well. Lindsey Lefevre agrees that the black and white suits this family. So, here are their family portrait, black and white style!
I also try a creative black and white filter, by adding someyellow into the highlights and some blues into the shadows. This add a “kick” into the image, which I thought looks awesome with the Sistine. Black and white is definitely made for this family.
Here’s some bonus photos of Jenny and her baby girl, Lexi. Aren’t they the cutest? I definitely love capturing the love they have for each other.
There’s a photographer who did some great black and white family portrait that I really like. Here’s a link to his blog.
