Last week, I got to do some group shots for my fashion shoot at the Sand Dunes, St. Anthony, Idaho with COMM316, Professional Imaging.
Last week, our awesome COMM316 class headed out to Egin Lake, by the sand dunes to have a high fashion photo shoot. Fashion photography is a genre of photography devoted to displaying clothing and other fashion items. It’s different from portraits photography because the focus is in the clothing and the accessories. Lindsay Adler is one of the experts in this field of photography.
One fun thing about fashion photography is getting photographs of groups. It’s quite a challenge to pose more than one people in your image and have them interact with each other so that it’s relevant. Having models standing back to back is one of my favorite technique in doing this.
For the image above. I like to have all the models facing the sunset. Then I photograph straight into the sun using a speedlight to light them up. For my last shot, my instructor, Caryn Esplin, tell me to lighten the image up in post production, so I did. It turned out not bad at all. Again with the back-to-back technique. I love it!
